A new Portland is emerging, with a new vision for tourism, and White Stones is at its leading edge.
Within a short space of time White Stones Café based on Portland is already establishing itself as place to go and relax with a selection of refreshments and food available. White Stones Café has also become a recognised arts venue and is attracting leading Dorset artists.
Qualified caterer and sculptor David Nicholls started White Stones Café from scratch and has totally transformed the premises into a contemporary arts and food venue. A space in which to sit and relax and enjoy good food and view high quality art. David tells us how he wanted "the space offers something unique and different for artists, a superb platform to show and sell their work."
Enjoy food, wine and beer in the courtyard garden
White Stones is now fully licensed so you can now enjoy fine wine and beer along with the excellent food. Another addition this year is the courtyard garden, which is now ready just in time for those hot summer months!
White Stones Café Gallery is situated in the heart of Easton, Portland. Right in the center of the Jurasic Coast, offering unparalleled comfort and style whilst relaxing over your food and refreshments.
A fusion of food and art
It is exciting that the concept of the space allows a broad range of people from around Weymouth & Portland to access the arts. With a regular changing exhbition, David aims to showcase a wide range of art.
David's challenge to himself was to change the perceptions of what an expected gallery space should be and break down a few boundaries. David adds, "art should be open to all and in a big way I think White Stones achieves this."
